The aim of the module is to demonstrate how to start implementing ideas into image creation with the human figure.
The module is aimed at intermediate to advanced photographers who wish to acquire a methodology in how to properly conceive ideas, concepts, and how to formulate and realise those concepts through images of the figure.
The module will also demonstrate the correct protocol in working in this genre and will instil confidence in participants who wish to pursue this type of photography.

ScheduleThe module will run over a period of one day, from 10am to 1pm and from 2.30pm until 5.00pm.

The module will cover:
1) Learning how to formulate ideas
2) The construction of ideas as viable images
3) The art elements that fulfil the nature of the concept
4) Capturing the necessary art elements to realise the concept
5) Lighting the figure with respect to the already captured art elements.
6) Variations in posing, all of which could suit the concept.
7) Reviewing all the elements in your computer
8) Sizing and scaling of all the elements to create a pleasing composition.
By way of a digital projector, Vincent
will show you how he creates one of his
Award winning images from scratch.
1) his method of cutting the figure off the background
2) scaling and sizing the figure
3) cosmetics,
4) air brushing and skin enhancement
5) selective blurring
6) dropped shadows and reflections
7) bringing all the elements into play and scaling appropriately
8) colour toning and hand tinting
9) final renderings to all elements
10) flattening and presenting the image as a final piece.
The afternoon part of the workshop is purely an observation exercise to
Participants to see and learn about the nuances of effects to create outstanding Images of artistic merit.
